Some MorphOS 2.0 features were unveiled at the Amimaj?wka 2007 in Poland this weekend.
I'm surprised to see nothing about it here. For those who are interested, here are a few pics of MorphOS 2.0 as it was shown there :

BurnIT DVD
transparent windows on Ambient
again
HDconfig
TCP/IP stack

as you can see on the TCP/IP prefs picture, MorphOS seems to run on an Efika (check the network device)

SoundSquare, I guess we were waiting for you to tell us, thanks.

PS: When did we start calling it "MorphOS 2.0?"

Did BurnIt became an integral part of MorphOS?

It will be "real 3D" only when we will have 3D monitors :)

So I think it's only 2D desktop with some nice transparency effects :)

The rumours say this should happen this year, but for sure not
earlier than in two months.

From the pictures you can see that it was demoed on an Efika (how fun is BurnIT DVD on an Efika really? ;-)), so it would be interesting to hear from people who attended the demo how it felt regarding speed and smoothness etc. Did it feel sluggish? Or was it fast enough?

From reports found on PPA and Amimajowka's site (in polish only) seems MorphOS 2.0 is really faaaast even on Efika.

Well, what's new actually?
I knew of:

- gfx hardware accelerated user interface (not only transparent windows, but all the rendering is done by the gfx hw)
- MUI4
- HD-config
- TCP/IP
- Editor
- Improved font handling
- Reggae (was siad to be in 1.5, then taken out again, but is now in again IIRC)

The team often speaks of heavy changes of the internal structures and dependencies, but what are these?

What else?

Summer will be full of blue butterflies.

Here is a quote from a very long time ago (25-Jul-2004):

"We work on a major OS release update and the name 1.5 is probably not appropriate enough to describe the differences."

Don't know, but if they benefit stability they are welcome.

Could we pleeeeeease have an english translation of that polish report? Or, at least, a link to the page containing the report, I'm unable to find it from PPA site.
