I just had a look at the bounties on this site and the system looks really useful (and shiny). But I'm wondering A) is there activity, and B) who is receiving the money. Anyone know?

These are evidently the latest:
Quote:

Permedia 2 Rave3D driver $194.00
X11 Wrapper $55.00
XServer $50.00
Printing System ?270.50
FTP Client ?47.00
Spreadsheet Application ?52.00

Those look good enough I guess.

There is also a nice bounty system over at power2people.org. Those appear to be non-MorphOS bounties, BUT potentially useful indirectly to MorphOS.

Any comments about the general health of the bounty scene? Are these bounty sites active enough, or should we have another? What sort of projects are needed now, in 2010?

I am also going to suggest some bounties at comp.sys.amiga.morphos.

All new donations are being collected by the Amiga Club Hamburg, a legally registered association in Germany. The main representatives of the bounty system would be Sven "insane" and Jakub "ThePlayer" who are both moderators of MorphZone's bounties forum and administrators at the Pegasosforum.

For me it looks to be dead. There is also no possibility to open a new bounty...

Velcro: once i suggested to get bounty opened for hardware supported cairo library (to make flash more usable), no luck. I think Kickstart was suggesting to open a bounty for WiFi stack for MacMini - no luck neither.

On the other side, would there be anyone interested in pickin up those bounties?

Can you be more precise on "once" and "no luck"? We have several bounties defined, opened and assigned, so I wonder why you think this should not be possible for more of them. Maybe you spoke to the wrong persons? Maybe you defined no real requirements?

The bounties aren't dead but there is not much movement one bounty has status updates: http://bounties.pegasosforum.de/bounties/show/15 and http://www.pegasosforum.de/viewtopic.php?t=3939.

Well the problem with bounties atm is that the only programers capable of pulling of the desirable bounties are mostly core Morphos team members... and they are quite busy on the os i'm sure..

Today i canceled the X11-Wrapper bounty because it had allmost
the same goal as the GTK-MUI-Wrapper bounty...
The donations are transfered, so the GTK-MUI bounty is now 186 EUR.
Maybe some more donations are needed to bring the things forward ;-)

And if someone wants to start a new bounty, please have a look at the bounty-rules:
