Hello everyone,

I finally closed the beta version of Ultimate Pack 1.6.0 for MorphOS 2.5.

As this is a beta version, I count on you for your feedback

Above all, I want to thank Patbest for the great work, he has done icons, wallpapers and preferences of Ambient contained in this pack.

I also thank all the programmers of the software in this pack.

I recall that this pack will unpack on a clean install of MorphOS 2.5 and the previous backup of your system is strongly recommended.

Please remove the installer from your archive, as it will break compatibly on MorphOS updates.

Its a system component which should not be replaced or updated by a third party application collection.

A changelog would be nice, for users of the old pack.

Also if there are som 'urgent' updates that is required for users that have upgraded from 2.4 to 2.5 and had pack 1.55 before?

One small error I think in the PolyNet script in the wbstartup folder.
There are references to volume System3:
Probably should be just System: ?

thanks a lot for your returns and suggestions.

A changelog will be very hard and complexe because there are much changes !

sorry for them have upgraded morphos 2.4 + pack ultimate 1.5.5 to morphos 2.5 but i have realised much changes too in this new version of the pack.

about the bad links in PolyNet bar, you can download this new file wich corrects this problem and copy it to sys:wbstartup/

Just looking at the script at the link, I can see some more errors in the paths:
MorphOS:Utils (firstly this volume/assign does not exist by default, and if its refering to sys:MorphOS, then the Sys:MorphOS/Utils drawer does not exist either.
Sys:Apps/ (should be sys:applications)
Morphtris is not the the application drawer, but in sys:games
Voyager is also in those prefs, but not in the pack.

I have stopped using PolyNet anyway, and using the inbuilt panels instead. I find PolyNet ackward to configure, and sometimes a bit buggy. (try to resize some of those icons and you probably know what I mean). Also I found it slightly annoying that this app always was the active one after a restart. Sometimes after restarting and the first thing to do I wanted to access the Ambient top menu, but instead the Polynet menues are active. Not a big deal, you just have to click somewhere on the workbenh first, but still annoying.
I find the panels are easy to configure and have drag'n drop. They could have a transparent option to make them look better,and perhaps some more functions, but you cant have it all:)

The icons in the pack looks very professional, giving the impression of multiple layers of transparency on top of each other. Very cool. But my first impression is that they are a bit dark, so for now I use the icons from the old pack. Maybe its the monitor that I'm on now that have some of the blame.

So what I did for now, is to check folder by folder to se what is new, and then I have copied some new programs that are added, and the updated libraries and MUI classes. I dont want to do a full overwrite of everything I have, because thers might be settings and changes that I have made that I dont want to loose.

@ amyren : i look this evening about the script.

About PolyNet menu in first, i don't know to replace by Ambient menu.

If you do all manually, you can but it's very long and hard and not garantee ;-)

just another note.
In the list of software, BlueHD is listed under CD-DVD. (as it was in the pack 1.55)
But in the 1.60 archive it is in the Video drawer.

I have not turned on my MorphOS Mini in a couple of weeks since I moved some computers around, so I have not yet upgraded to MorphOS2.5, but plan to very soon. Maybe on Sunday I will find some time. From reading this thread, am I right in assuming that the installer has been removed from the Ultimate Pack 1.6.0 beta and it must all be installed manually, or has only the Polynet installer been altered or removed after geit's request? I am not clear on what the complaint is/was, nor am I clear on what was done to correct it, as I have no experience with any prior packs from papiosaur or anyone else.

I was planning on doing a backup of my MorphOS Mini's 2.4 install and then installing 2.5 and this Ultimate Pack 1.6.0 from scratch on a clean hard drive. I have an 80gb internal hdd inside the Mini and a 250gb hdd in a Lacie external hdd enclosure. Currently I have both hard drives partitioned with space for MorphOS and MacOSX on each of them, which I plan on keeping, even though I rarely run MacOSX on my PPC MacMini as I have two other Mac x86 computers to run OSX on when I want or need it. With that in mind I am open to suggestions on what partition sizes I should use for each, as now would be a good time to adjust them before doing the clean install of MorphOS2.5. Has anyone tried to access their MacOSX iTunes library from MorphOS to play movies and music while using MorphOS2.x instead of having duplicate files on separate MacOSX and MorphOS2.x partitions? It would be nice to have all my music and movies/TV shows in one place in the iTunes library and be able to play all of them from any computer I own that is connected to my home LAN.

No, Geit has asked to remove Installer command from the pack.

PolyNet file correct bad links from old archive.

New archive with some corrections is available to :

It is recommanded to install pack Ultimate on a fresh install of MorphOS 2.5 ;-)

The following software are not freely distributable, thank you delete them and too the archive that contains :

- CED (in c: drawer), you must have original CD,
- LogTool (in tools/log/), it's an official software of SDK,
- FxPaint Lite (in Applications/Paint/),

An new archive is in preparation.
