DDJVU - converter

Cool thanks for your efforts, but i'm a little confused what this program does? Will it allow Morphos users to convert PDF files to amiga compatible txt files with formating?

At least to me it's pretty clear what it does as it's stated explicitly in the announcement:

"tool to convert djvu document to tiff, text, pdf or more"

So what it does is converting DJV and DJVU files to TIFF, TXT, PDF or (taken from the readme) PBM, PGM, PPM or PNM, which means it won't convert PDF files to TXT.

Why cant you just post the answer instead of ridiculing people?

No, not always. It actually depends on the stupidity level of the posting I reply to.

Because then -- taking into account that your question was already answered in the announcement itself -- my reply would have been: "Switch your brain on you moron and read the effing announcement!" Apart from the fact that this is not my level of colloquy I'm pretty sure you'd have liked that even less, hence I didn't do it.

i thought it did the opposite, converting other files, pdf, tiff... into djvu format one. So well... But is it possible to find djvu files elsewhere than on http://djvu.org/gallery ? And is it possible to get these files with owb less any dedicated plugin ? Having to switch under an other operating system to use its own browser is completely annoying.

This assessment is at least not supported by either the announcement nor the readme file, and also not by the original documentation:

I'm not sure I understand what you mean here. If you just want to "get" these files in the sense of downloading them it should work like for any other file with OWB. You can then use DJVUViewer (see prior news) to display the downloaded file. If on the other hand you want to display them in the OWB context by means of a plugin then no, such a DjVu plugin doesn't exist for OWB. There isn't even a plugin for the far more widespread PDF format.
But all is not lost. There is a JavaScript based PDF viewer that actually works in OWB:

For DjVu files it should be possible to launch from within OWB a script which downloads the DjVu file in the background, converts the downloaded DjVu file to a temporary PDF file with DDJVU and then starts the JavaScript based PDF viewer within OWB with this PDF file as an argument.

And as said previously, you could just download djvu files and view them with djvuviewer, or even add a new mimetype entry in OWB (type: image/vnd.djvu extension: djvu action: external viewer: path:to/djvuviewer FILE %f). That way clicking a djvu file in OWB will directly run the viewer.
